PATTERN (PDF): The Just For Fun Quilt Pattern

The Just for Fun Quilt Pattern was born during a particularly rotten month.  We were in the middle of a home renovation project that had taken over our house.  The weather was cold and miserable.  My kids were sick, I was sick, my husband was sick...and worst of all our old, scrappy dog passed away.

During this time there was a Friday night where the kids were in bed and my husband was working on the renovation.  The house was quiet and I was exhausted.  I needed a break.  So I retreated to an upstairs corner with my sewing machine and some pre-cut fabric squares.  I needed to do something for just a little while that was “fun”.

A few hours later, I had finished an entire quilt top and had listened to almost an entire book...and I felt a million times better!!! This simple quilt and the time I spent sewing it changed my attitude.  Sometimes we all need a little time alone to create a project “just for fun”. 

This pattern, designed for use with pre-cuts, is an easy sew.  No intricate cutting, pressing, or measuring is required. Which means that it is a great project when you want to sew something purely for fun!  However, it is also a great pattern for beginners who are looking to create their first quilt.

I know that this quilt pattern is going to become one of my staple “go-to” patterns and I hope that you enjoy stitching it up as much as I do.
